I use to use MAC Painterly Paint pot as base but after trying the Color Tattoos, I only use the paint pot when I am doing simple eye make up. Right now I own "Bad to the Bronze" and "Inked in Pink" from the Color Tattoo.
I like using my hands to apply because it applies too heavily and unevenly with a brush. This can be used as an everyday simple make up but it can also be used for a dark eye make up look when applied couple of layers.
Sometimes, I only put on the "Bad to the Bronze" without anything else (not even eye liner) because it is really simple and creates a neutral look without too much hassle. "Bad to the Bronze" turns into different shades of brown with the different light it is reflecting. So in the parts of the eyelid where a lot of light is reflected, it is lighter and the creases are darker which is the reason why this is so easy to use. You don't need another type of brown to create a neutral brown look.
"Inked in Pink" is also a pretty color but I prefer to wear this with another type of shadow on top of it. I have sparkly eye shadow in the middle of my eye, on top of the pink shadow, to cancel out a bit of the pink and bring some light into the middle. I like the color but I am not used to wearing pink eye shadow. I think it looks awkward on me which is why I try to cancel out a bit of pink in the centre of my eye.
